필리핀에는 수많은 섬들과 산악지대가 있고, 여러개의 언어를 사용하는 부족들이 있습니다. 내가 만난 대부분의 필리핀 사역자, 신학생들의 첫번째 선교적 과제는 이 부족지역에 교회를 세우고 복음을 전하는 일입니다. 필리핀이라 한 민족의 개념 보다는 여러 부족들이 함께 산다는 생각의 바탕으로 자국선교이자 타부족 선교의 과제에 뜻을 두고 있어서 저는 긍적적인 아시아 선교의 모습으로 보고 있습니다. 아래 선교사는 (제이슨과 조애나) 우리가 개인적으로 아주 작은 후원을 하고 있는 제가 가르치는 신학원의 졸업생(예정)입니다. 수년전 학생시절에 단기선교를 갔다가 그 마을 원주민들과 사귀고, 최근 이 부족들의 초대로 카쉬구란 마을로 삶을 이동하여 교회개척과 복음 사역에 기초를 내리고 있습니다. 기도 부탁합니다!
